Sinopsis
This book is a diverse collection of poems by an unknown author in the 19th century. The author writes about love, romance, war and the human condition. The author is particularly eloquent about injustice, and many of the poems give voice to the pain and suffering of the oppressed, particularly in "After The War" and "The Suicide." Here, the author displays an empathy beyond their time, and a genuine concern for the welfare of others. The poems also explore the natural world with great appreciation and awe and are frequently celebratory in tone, such as "The Battle of Manila".
