The present work by the devoted Fa ther Janvier is, as he explains in his preface, an attempt to give the principal facts in the life of the saintly Carmelite, with an account of the Work of Repa ration to which the Confraternity of the Holy Face is consecrated. We think it will be read by pious Catholics with much edification and profit. His Grace Of Baltimore tells us that her [rife is calculated to promote piety and edifica tion not only in cloistered institutions, but also in the ranks Of the secular life.

Excerpt from Sister Saint-Pierre and the Work of Reparation: A Brief History
The following work is a translation of the brief Life of Sister Saint-Pierre which was published by the Rev. Father Janvier at Tours in 1882 with the approbation of his archbishop. Her own account of her experiences, and remarkable manifestations of the divine favor, has been already given to the public by the instrumentality of the Carmelite Nuns of New Orleans.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the life and spiritual journey of Sister Saint-Pierre, a 19th-century Carmelite nun from France. Through her own writings and accounts from those who knew her, we witness her profound devotion to God and her unwavering commitment to a life of prayer and service. Sister Saint-Pierre's life was marked by intense mystical experiences, including revelations from Jesus Christ himself. These revelations centered around the concept of "Reparation," a call to atone for the sins of humanity, particularly the widespread blasphemy against God's name. Sister Saint-Pierre became deeply devoted to the Holy Face of Jesus, seeing it as a powerful symbol of God's love and suffering, and a means to appease divine wrath and bring about the conversion of sinners. The author explores the historical context of Sister Saint-Pierre's life and the rise of anti-religious sentiment in France during this period. The book also delves into the theological and spiritual significance of her revelations, particularly the connection between the Holy Face of Jesus and the power of the Holy Name. Ultimately, this book offers a compelling portrait of a woman consumed by her love for God and driven by a desire to serve as an instrument of divine mercy. Sister Saint-Pierre's story serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of faith and the importance of seeking to repair the broken relationship between humanity and the divine.
