The text for the new edition Of the Dental Formulary has been completely rewritten; many important additions have been made, especially in regard to recent improvements concerning the preparation of investment compounds, im pression waxes, and other materials used in the construction of metallic inlays. Some of the matter which has become Obsolete has been discarded. A number of recipes has been modified according to present needs, and many tests have been carried out to verify the composition and construction Of formulas. Only such formulas are presented which have shown to possess real merit and to be worthy of an extended trial at the hands Of the profession. An earnest effort has been made to present the whole matter in a thoroughly up-to-date manner. The author wishes to thank his many professional friends who have assisted him most generously in the preparation Of the second edition of the Dental Formulary. H. P.
