Excerpt from Geological and Solar Climates: Their Causes and Variations, a Thesis
Since Agassiz announced* the past existence of an age during which ice covered temperate and tropical land areas, the cause of this wonderful phenomenon has been a problem of profound interest. Upon the cor rect solution of it hinges also the cause of Geological climates.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a new theory to explain the Earth's geological climate history. The author contends that for much of the planet's life, a steady, internal heat source kept the surface too hot for oceans to exist. As heat was gradually lost, these steamy conditions cooled, allowing the first bodies of water to form and shrouding the planet in a dense, heat-trapping fog that kept out the Sun's energy. The author argues that this veil of fog only thinned as the planet lost heat, allowing for drastic shifts in climate prior to the Ice Age, which was solely caused by the unique thermal properties of water in its solid and liquid forms. The author supports this idea by pointing to the widespread evidence of glaciation in tropical and temperate zones, which would have been impossible under conditions of solar-controlled climate. This theory not only reinterprets the Earth's geological climate history but also sheds light on climate formation on other planets in our solar system.
