A vivid continuation of Kitty’s story, filled with romance, loyalty, and social tension. In Volume II, M. Betham Edwards deepens Kitty’s world as she confronts love, duty, and the expectations of friends and family. The narrative threads together art, travel, and intimate confrontations that test character and courage, all set against a vivid, late‑Victorian backdrop.
Follow Kitty as she travels, navigates delicate relationships, and weighs generous impulses against personal happiness. The book weaves together moments of tenderness, sharp wit, and real emotional stakes that keep the story moving from page to page.
Ideal for readers who enjoyed the first volume and crave more of Kitty’s nuanced world, where every choice weighs on the heart as much as its consequences.

Excerpt from Kitty, Vol. 2 of 3
"And now for Perry's picture," said Mrs. Cornford, when the merry feast had sped to its close. "I'm sorry yon have made such a poor supper, Kitty, but I expected as much. Well, I hope fine clothes and spiced dishes will always agree with you. That's all, my dear."
Perry gave her his arm, and they led the way. It was a very dirty staircase they had to ascend, and a very dusty mansarde of a studio at the top. Perry led Kitty to a solitary chair which stood in front of his picture.
