Excerpt from Principal Rainy a Biographical Study
Much of the biographical element in what follows is drawn from recollections of conversa tions with my mother, or with my uncle, Mr. Brown of the Scotch church at Fan, to whose memory Dr. Rainy paid a beautiful tribute in the U nited Free Church Record last year. Some pages have appeared already in the Pmmztwe Methodist Quarterly Review, and smaller fragments in Young Scotland.
