Excerpt from Hints on Bible Study
The great author was right. There is but one Book that can at once teaoh the little child and guide the great statesman that can lift whole nations out of their savagery, strike the manacles from the slave, and pour forth a flood of human happiness upon the world. This Book kills cowardice and purifies ambition. It-tears the mask from, the scoundrel's voluptuous face and reveals his villainy. It makes men socially sweet and morally. Clean.

As Sir Walter Scott lay on a couch in his library, looking out upon the Tweed, and wondering how many hours would elapse before life's lamp would go out, he asked a friend to read to him. What book would you like? said Lockhart, as he looked at the 20,000 beautiful volumes carefully arranged round the walls. "Need you ask?" said Sir Walter; "there is but one." And so the Bible was brought, and the sick man was comforted by the sweet sayings of the Man of Nazareth.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book offers guidance on how to study the Bible, arguing that it demands careful study to fully understand its content and gain its riches. Mere casual reading will not suffice in comprehending the depth of revelation that the Bible holds. The author contends that we must study the Bible in the same way we study any other book, with a detached mind and openness to guidance from experts. The Bible is not merely a collection of stories but an anthology of literary masterpieces from various periods, and should be examined in limited portions to fully appreciate its complexity. Furthermore, the Bible should be read with a spiritual aim, seeking guidance and inspiration for daily living. This approach to studying the Bible will lead to a deeper understanding of God, the ability to discern truth from falsehood, and the strengthening of faith.
