Excerpt from Elements of Constructive Geometry
The method is constructive, the pupils drawing their own figures. It begins with simple exercises, which increase in difficulty by almost imperceptible steps.
The treatment of the subject will, I think, be found thoroughly educative and practical, and an excellent introduction to demonstrative geometry.
The introduction of this kind of geometry into the country schools, where geometry has heretofore not been taught, and into the lower grades of village and city schools, will furnish a sort of knowledge to the pupils of those schools that will prove valuable to them in the various callings of life; a knowledge, too, of which they are now left in total ignorance.

Excerpt from Elements of Constructive Geometry
Believing that there is room in our schools for an elementary inductive work on geometry, I have taken the matter of one of the best German books and, as much as possible, changed the method from the deductive to the inductive.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is an elementary introduction to geometry. In it, the author seeks to take the reader from simple exercises and build up to more complex problems in a manner that makes geometry more accessible and understandable. The book is divided into eight chapters covering topics from lines and angles to circles, triangles, and polygons. The author's methods minimize the use of deductive arguments and instead focus on inductive learning, moving from simple observations and measurements to more difficult concepts. Many books on geometry employ deductive methods, where readers are asked to accept the truth of statements and work with them to discover more about the subject. This book, however, takes a constructivist approach, guiding readers through the process of discovery and allowing them to come to their conclusions. The author thoroughly explains all of the fundamentals of geometry and gives many practical examples and exercises for readers to try. This allows readers to build a solid foundation in geometry and gives them valuable practice applying the concepts they learn.
