An' a fair Mullater I knew onct was a charmin' gal and fit.
A roight-down 'appy gal was she, and purty, too, I'm dem! An' I on'y wish I 'ad her 'ere, to show longsoide o' them As often thinks theirselves so 'igh, and thinks a soldier low- Aside my gay Mullater gal they'd look uncommon slow!
She fetched I, I can tell 'ee; an' onct I tried a song,
To let my mates know 'ow I faredf when on my walks so long. A purty song, they said it was-I 'most forget it now-
But Dick O'Dowd went jawring J so as got me in a row!
* Creole, of course, he means. Fared-felt.
