Sinopsis

Excerpt from Elements of the Integral Calculus: With a Key to the Solution of Differential Equations, and a Short Table of Integrals

The following volume is a sequel to my treatise on the Differential Calculus, and, like that, is written as a text-hook. The last chapter, however, a Key to the Solution of Differential Equations, may prove of service to working mathematicians.

I have used freely the works of Bertrand, Benjamin Peirce, Todhunter, and Boole; and I am much indebted to Professor J. M. Peirce for criticisms and suggestions.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a comprehensive guide to integral calculus, an extension of differential calculus that finds applications in diverse fields like engineering, physics, astronomy, and economics. The author, an experienced mathematician, has taken pains to ensure the text is accessible to students, starting from the very basics. The book begins by establishing the concept of an imaginary, a fundamental idea that extends the number system beyond real numbers to include the square root of negative one. The author then moves on to discuss more advanced topics such as logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, differentiation, and integration. The treatment of each topic is thorough and accompanied by numerous examples and exercises to aid comprehension. The book also includes a chapter on hyperbolic functions, a family of functions closely related to trigonometric functions. The book's approach emphasizes understanding the concepts behind integral calculus rather than merely memorizing formulas. This approach, coupled with the author's clear explanations and use of real-world examples, makes the book an invaluable resource for students looking to master this essential branch of mathematics. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Nº de ref. del artículo: 9781330014936_0
