Acerca del autor

Michael McCarthy Michael McCarthy is Emeritus Professor of Applied Linguistics, University of Nottingham, UK. He holds/has held Visiting and Adjunct Professorships at the University of Limerick, Ireland, Newcastle University, UK, and Penn State University, USA. He is an Honorary Professor of the University of Valencia, Spain. He has been involved in the study and teaching of English for 52 years. Since the 1980s he has worked with computerised corpora, investigating the vocabulary and grammar of present-day English, with a focus on everyday spoken language. He is author of more than 50 books and 112 academic articles. He has lived and taught in the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Malaysia. Felicity O’Dell Dr Felicity O'Dell is a part-time tutor at the Institute of Education, University of London, where she helps to run a course in Online Education and Training. She is also chair of UCLES CAE Writing Paper and Listening Papers for the Cambridge Young Learners Tests. She is also author and/or co-author of over 40 EFL books including: Academic Vocabulary in Use, English Vocabulary in Use Elementary, English Vocabulary in Use Upper-intermediate, English Vocabulary in Use Advanced, Basic Vocabulary in Use, English Phrasal Verbs in Use, English Phrasal Verbs in Use Advanced, English Collocations in Use, English Collocations in Use Advanced, English Idioms in Use, English Idioms in Use Advanced Games for Vocabulary Practice and Objective CAE.
