Excerpt: ...for some to show sympathy, but there was no one, and for comforters, but I found none. 21 They gave me also gall2 as my food; and for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. 22 Let their table before them become a trap; and to them that are at peace (let it become) a bait2. 23 Let their eyes be dark, that they see not; and make their loins continually to totter. 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let the heat of thine anger overtake them. 25 Let their encampment4 be desolate; let there be none to dwell in their tents. 26 For him whom thou hast smitten they persecute; and they tell of" the pain of those whom thou hast wounded. 27 Put iniquity on to their iniquity; and let them not come into thy righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living6, and not be written with the righteous. 29 But I am poor7 and in pain: thy salvation, O God, shall set me up on high. 30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and magnify him with thanksgiving; 31 And it shall please Jehovah better than an ox, (or) a bullock, that hath horns" and parted hoofs0. 32 The humble, when they see it, shall be glad: ye that seek after God, let your heart live16.
