""Knowing The Scriptures: Rules And Methods Of Bible Study"" is a comprehensive guide to understanding and interpreting the Bible. Originally published in 1910, the book was written by Arthur Tappan Pierson, a prominent theologian and preacher of his time. The book is divided into two parts. The first part provides an introduction to the Bible, including its history, structure, and authority. Pierson also discusses the importance of studying the Bible and the benefits it can bring to one's life. The second part of the book is dedicated to the rules and methods of Bible study. Pierson explains how to approach the Bible with a critical and analytical mindset, how to interpret difficult passages, and how to apply the lessons of the Bible to one's life. He also provides practical advice on how to organize and conduct a Bible study group. Throughout the book, Pierson emphasizes the importance of prayer and a personal relationship with God in the study of the Bible. He also draws on his own experiences as a preacher and teacher to provide real-world examples and insights. ""Knowing The Scriptures: Rules And Methods Of Bible Study"" is a timeless resource for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of the Bible and its teachings. Arthur Tappan Pierson (18371911), was an American Presbyterian pastor with a wide and varied transatlantic ministry that made him famous in Scotland and England. This pioneer of fundamentalism preached over 13,000 sermons in his lifetime, delivered Bible lectures in venues like Moody Bible Institute, and penned over fifty books. He served as a consulting editor for the original Scofield Reference Bible (1909) for his friend, C. I. Scofield and counted as friends such men as D. L. Moody, George Mller, Adoniram Judson Gordon, and C. H. Spurgeon (whom he succeeded in the pulpit of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, London).
