Fra Diavolo Or The Inn Of Terracina: A Comic Opera In Three Acts (1854) is a musical work by the French composer Daniel Francois Esprit Auber. The opera tells the story of Fra Diavolo, a notorious bandit who poses as a nobleman in order to rob unsuspecting travelers. When he meets the beautiful and wealthy Lady Pamela, however, his plans are complicated by his growing affection for her. The opera is set in the Italian town of Terracina, and features a cast of colorful characters, including a bumbling police officer and a group of comical bandits.
