If you have any additional information or properties that you want to track against a product, you don’t have to resort to adding fields to the table and then modifying the forms so that you have a place to store it. You can take advantage of the product attributes feature within Dynamics 365 to add an unlimited number of additional pieces of data. You don’t even have to have the same attributes for all of the products, by using the Product Categories, you can assign specific groups of attributes to different groups of products.
