Dr. Shannon Williams, a native Houstonian, is an entrepreneurial evangelist, writer, researcher and consultant. Her research examines the intersections between entrepreneurship and economic development, specifically how incubating micro-enterprises in disadvantaged communities can result in the socioeconomic transformation of these emerging markets. Dr. Williams is the founder and co-founder of several successful businesses that have beaten the odds to survive and thrive for more than a decade. As an entrepreneurship lecturer in Atlanta, Georgia, she enjoys teaching and transferring her passion for entrepreneurship to young university students. As a consultant, she advises community and economic development groups, training them on how to establish business incubators that effectively nurture entrepreneurs in the creation of sustainable enterprises that build strong communities.
