Jamaican Mi Seh Mi ABC's is a 60 page children's book written by Valrie Kemp-Davis and illustrated with a kaleidoscope of warm and vibrant imagery by Michael Talbot. It takes the classical alphabet book approach and puts a dancehall deejay spin to it. This book weaves various aspects of the Jamaican culture into every page culminating with a detailed glossary at the end. You'll be sure to have a great educational adventure as you groove to a"Patwabet", poetic beat. This one appeals to the child in all of us. "So if you think Jamaica is simply coconuts, palm trees, dreadlocks, Drake’s dance song, “Controlla” and Rhianna’s hit tune “Work”... THEN you’ll be in for a pleasant treat and so much more! This ABC book is the voice and heart of eleven year old Carradice. Though Midwest made and straight out of East Chicago, don’t get it twisted. This young gyal was very much born Jamerican! You are cordially being invited to a JamRock lyrical, patois rhythmic adventure. Join in as Carradice and Deejay Rewind schools you from A to Z on her father’s culture, foods, heroes, traditions, customs, music... Everyting Mon! She promises that by the time you can say, The End, you will love “Yaad” like cooked food and have a greater appreciation for the land of wood and water! Nuff Respect!!!"

She always purposed to encourage those branded as “offenders” to take their rightful positions as the cornerstone within society! She is the international liaison for the National Kingdor Parkinson Foundation since 2010. National Kingdor Parkinson Foundation is the only Caribbean Parkinson chapter in the world. Its headquarters is based in Nassau Bahamas. Val is also a Life Member and Silver Star of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and has held several offices within her local chapter. Val is the mother of two Jamerican daughters and an aunt to a Jamerican niece and nephew. Her love of children has also led her to become a surrogate mother to several children in the East Chicago community who “chose her” and her home as a safe source of refuge. All who have lived in her home, and have left are working towards attaining their goals in life.
