Gene Stirm and his wife Patricia live in Tehachapi, California. After 40 years in graphic arts, Gene returned to acting and began exploring filmmaking and screen writing with a special interest in documentaries. His first documentary, Dreams Forgotten, won a VIC award, from the Hollywood Television Museum, in 2001. He is a member of SAG/AFTRA and has several TV and film acting credits. In Tehachapi, he continued his studies of Native American art and culture and Shamanism. In 2008, he received a Doctor of Shamanism Degree from ULC Seminary. It was at that time he began rewriting some of his screenplays into novels. Gene has been connected with publishing, book design and editing most of his professional life. Writing credits include Impression, Jostens employee magazine; Award winning writer and editor of mineralogical bulletins. His first Novel, Mystical Path To Mystique, won Honorable Mention in the California Fiction Writer Challenge 2012. Other works include, As A Shaman Dreams, The Art and Craft of Cover Design, Oscar Goes Camping, co-authored with Chelley Kitzmiller, and writer-producer of the feature film, Birthday Wishes. Gene’s hobbies include jewelry making and lapidary, he is an award-winning Master Lapidary/Gem Cutter.
