Gary Metivier has always considered himself a storyteller. His love of writing probably started in the eighth grade when he was supposed to be paying attention to his teacher. Instead, he was creating fictional characters that went on adventures that pulled in his classmates who would whisper for the next page as they secretly passed his work from desk to desk. The shy boy, who is the tenth of twelve children, had found a creative outlet and there was no looking back. Not only did that same teacher, Janice Dillon Himegarner, inspire Gary to come out of his shell and reveal his character nearly 30 years ago she helped copy-edit this book! Gary is still telling stories as an award-winning television news reporter and anchor and now children s book writer. His first book, Willie s Wagon, became a bestseller within weeks of its release. Gary lives in Davenport, Iowa with his wife Pam and two young sons Josh and Adam.
