After my divorce, taking that first step was scary. I was only nineteen when I married. My perimeters were set, and the responsibilities were handed over and readily established early on. I never stepped out of the circle placed around me. After my twenty-four-year marriage, each step turned into an experience from which I could learn. Dating became part of that education.When I started this journey, I never thought it would bring me to where I am today. With blinders on, I developed a sense of humor that gave me the wisdom and maturity to laugh at myself. I opened my eyes and embarked on adventures that would teach me more about life than sitting at home and living it vicariously through a world I knew nothing about.We re all unique individuals who are looking for a place to belong. We open ourselves up and go through the motions that lead us to a greater understanding of life. Whether it s through marriage, friendships, or acquaintances, we try to find acceptance. There is no judging right from wrong, or good from bad. It s our preferences that establish and develop a lifestyle to fit our needs.Along the way, we accumulate personality traits that separate us from each other. I was fortunate to have met some great friends. I didn t know that at the time, but they helped me develop skills that made me stronger. With growth came emotional stability.While Searching 4 MrRight, I learned a lot about myself. The dating world isn t a fun place, unless you accept it with laughter. Every man in this book made me recognize that. When we travel down roads that open our horizons, the changes are overwhelming. For the first time, I realized how strong I really was.
