"Kit and His Magical Flashlight by Robyn Connelly is a children's adventure story. Kit
has a flashlight. It’s yellow, it’s bright, and it’s magical. Kit explores the world with his
flashlight and once saw a big troll wearing a wig made from leaves. Kit has seen so
many wondrous things in his explorations: pirates, aliens in space, dinosaurs, and
even a rabbit piloting a plane. With plenty of illustrations, you too can join Kit on his
amazing adventures, and the next time you open a book, maybe you will have some
adventures of your own. And did you spot OJ? Kit’s best friend is a big orange cat, and
he’s hidden himself somewhere in every picture.
Kit and His Magical Flashlight by Robyn Connelly is a lovely kids’ story with wonderful
colorful illustrations by Junis Laureano that take you straight into Kit’s adventures.
Written in rhyme, this story is sure to delight kids of all ages. The bonus of asking
readers to search for a hidden cat in every picture adds to the fun. This magical story
helps kids realize that their imaginations are everything and they should be allowed to
give these free rein at times. It also teaches them that reading isn’t at all the boring
“task” some people make it out to be. Opening a book is like opening a doorway to a
whole new world and children should be encouraged to put down their electronic
devices and pick up a book to have the best adventures. I loved this story, and I think
it will teach children a lot about reading and using their imaginations."
