Product Description: Focusing on story and "narrativist" premise, THE RIDDLE OF STEEL builds on individual strategy, teamwork, group tactics, and the principle of âcause-and-effectâ to provide a different, intense, and powerful alternative to hack-and-bash-and-slash or melodramatic storytelling found in todayâs mainstream hobby-game market. THE RIDDLE OF STEEL features: A quick, user-friendly priority-based character creation, allowing an infinite number of character types with minimum quantities of time and rules. Character creation focuses on âwhoââ"not just âwhatââ"you want to play, breathing life into each new character and creating the stories that you want to create. The most realistic combat system in any RPG, requiring thought, strategy, and cunning-not just brute strength or a hack-and-slash mentality. Limitless use of sorcery and magic-sorcerers create their own spells on the fly with easy-to-use guidelines. First-priority on who a character is, not what a character is-characters progress as they further their own beliefs, goals, and destinies through our ground-breaking Spiritual Attribute system. An immense campaign world, Weyrthâ¢, with over 40 distinct nations, races, religions, and cultures. Simple yet detailed game mechanics for all levels of gamers, from beginner to hardened veteran. Core rules and world guide contained in ONE BOOK! Everything you need with a single purchase. The only rpg approved by the Association for Renaissance Martial Arts.
