Robert M. Melanon is the Managing Principal of Melanon & Company, a Dallas, Texas based, Retained Executive Search and Consulting firm with roots dating back to 1973. He is also a noted speaker, writer, and author and is considered an authority on the subject of Executive Selection.
Melancon graduated from Loyola University where he received a bachelors degree (cum laude) in Business Administration with a minor in Labor Management, and holds NASD Series 6 and 63 securities licenses. Prior to entering the executive search profession, he enjoyed a highly successful 15-year corporate career in human resources management with three of the country's then leading Fortune 50 corporations Shell Oil Company, Hoechst-Celanese Corporation, and Frito-Lay, Inc.
In 1980, Melancon left the corporate world to become an Executive Search Consultant, and has served as the Managing Principal of his own practice for the past 20+ years. His background in executive recruitment is somewhat unique in that he has been involved in the staffing process from all perspectives as the one being recruited, as the employer doing the recruiting, and as a search consultant serving as an agent for all parties in the recruitment process.
