A book and a coffer with two locks should be provided in each parish, and that every Sunday, in the presence of the churchwardens, the parson was to write in this book the records of all the baptisms, marriage and burials of the preceding week. The following is a list of all known transcripts currently held in Australian reference libraries. Unless otherwise stated the parish registers listed are those for the Church of England. This listing does not include the parishes of Scotland, Ireland or Wales. It is believed to be a complete compilation of the holdings of the main repositories in this country.
