This catalogue accompanies an exhibition held at Stanford University's Cantor Arts Center from February 18 through June 20, 2004, in celebration of the museum membership group's 50th anniversary (the museum itself was founded in 1891). In a unique arrangement, a group of eight undergraduate and graduate students studying exhibition organization at the Cantor Arts Center in the 2002-2003 academic year interviewed the lenders, examined and researched selected works and paintings in their collections, prepared the entries for the catalogue, and assisted the Center's staff with the installation. The text also includes comments by 41 of the lenders about their passion for art and interest in art collecting. Illustrated in b&w and color. No subject index.
