So opens the poetic terrain Phillip Foss excavates in The Ideation, a book rich in the rituals of the instant in which past, present, and future conspire "to render a cartography of the universe." And it's a particularly feral universe these poems map, one where "antlers index ascension into vocabularies of sensation."
