Soft cover. Condición: Fine. No Jacket. 2nd Edition. Fine in stiff paper wraps. Unread. Second revised edition of Earth Firsts! monkey wrenching manual edited by Foreman and Bill Haywood. Forewards by Dave Foreman and Edward Abbey. Dozens of illustrations. Big Bill Haywood was an significant figure in the US Industrial Workers of the World (IWW--Wobblies). In this case Haywood is reportedly a pseudonym for Ron Kezar, one of the Earth First founders. The term 'monkeywrenching' came from the Abbey book 'The Monkey Wrench Gang'. Both Ecodefense and TMWG are classics of environmental activism. Apparently Ecodefense was banned in Australia. Rare in the UK. Nº de ref. del artículo: 000279

Softcover. Condición: Near Fine. Second Edition; Third Printing. Stated second edition, third printing from 1989, originally published in 1985. Signed on the title page by co-editor Bill Haywood (aka Ron Kezar). Glossy green camouflage wrappers with black lettering on cover and spine. Near fine condition with very minor wear to edges. Perfect binding is tight. Interior is clean. Features a "Forward! " by Edward Abbey. Includes black-and-white illustrations throughout. Earth First! Was a radical environmental group formed in the American Southwest in 1980. The group rose to prominence as it organized events, published a journal, and used direct action to advocate for wilderness proposals that were too far-reaching for mainstream conservationists. This book by two Earth First! Founders details the many methods that can be used to disrupt development projects and conduct ecological sabotage. Though the disclaimer notes the book is "for entertainment purposes only, " this monkeywrenching guide became quite controversial with its instructions for tree spiking, plugging waste discharge pipes, disabling vehicles, and other subversive activities. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 311 pp; Signed by Editor. Nº de ref. del artículo: 024963
