Chapter six reviews the materials available for the study of the eighteenth century In chapter seven the data for the first half of the nineteenth century is surveyed and chapter eight looks specifically at sources concerning land in the period from 1850-1900. The last chapter pinpoints some of the problems in writing local studies and suggests a possible framework.
