There is no doubt that the best way to understand the principles of sundials and timedials is to make working models. Each of the models is cut from thin card and is adjustable for use within the range of latitudes 30 degrees N & 60 degrees N. They work surprizingly accurately and there are many different designs: including Polar; Equatorial; Sunbeam Equatorial; Traditional; Three-in-One; and a Nocturnal. Also included is a minibook which suggests some interesting projects and investigations.
