He currently is a chief scientist at BBN Technologies (part of GTE Corporation), the networking company that built the ARPAnet and has played an active role in developing the Internet. He is editor-in-chief of "IEEE Network Magazine," as well as a professor at Stanford University and an instructor for INTEROP.
