Here, for the first time in English, are the poems of Cécile Cloutier. The images are sharp, the metaphors suggestive, the poetry impressionistic and evocative of the poet’s Quebec past. Since 1964, Cécile Cloutier has taught French at the University of Toronto. These poems have been selected from seven of her collections and translated from the French by Alexandre L. Amprimoz who, as well as being a philologist, has published collections of poetry in both French and English.
