In The Divine Dynamic, Jesuit priest John Surette has gathered together some of his essays and many of his sermons that have been inspired while living within this interface. It is his hope that the readers will be helped to travel beyond seeing themselves as economic, political, and religious people into also experiencing themselves as planetary people.

Within this broader self-identity our efforts toward justice for Earth and its human community will be enhanced and will be seen as being one justice, not two. We will be invited into a more comprehensive and all-inclusive way of engaging with our sacred scriptures. We will also discover that the dynamics of Earth, and indeed of the whole Universe, are dynamics that are at work in our individual lives. These are examples of the many opportunities for our spirituality as we explore its planetary and cosmic path.
