The National Electrical Code is the most widely recognized and adopted electrical code in the world, covering every phase of safe electrical installations. It is updated and republished every three years by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), headquartered in Quincy, Massachusetts, after intensive research by a large NFPA code committee composed of the top professionals in the nation. It is the official electrical code of the majority of cities, counties and states in the United States.
