Sinopsis
Written for an introductory computer concepts course with emphasis on business applications and systems concepts, this book provides balanced micro mainframe coverage with strong emphasis on what students "need to know" about computers to be productive workers in today's business world. Newest technologies and computer applications are covered and each chapter begins with an "Opening Scenario," which provides students with a realistic framework in which to learn concepts. Focus on Total Quality Management (TQM) includes examples of TQM highlighted throughout the text and international issues are integrated throughout the text. Students are encouraged to apply theory using experiential exercises and continuing Wal-Mart case study illustrates computer use in business. Applications, including word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, and databases, are addressed in separate modules and may be addressed at any time in the course. In addition there are three extra edition of this book which are bundled with current application packages - Applications Software Edition, QuickBASIC and Microsoft Works.
