Written by leading researchers and practitioners, this new book guides its readers in the development and use of dynamic models in wastewater engineering. The models represent quantitative descriptions of physical, chemical, and biological processes. These models will facilitate the design and operation of treatment facilities, and will provide assistance in training engineers and plant operators. The book also describes the application of expert systems, i.e., computer programs which allow non-experts to use the knowledge of an expert system to solve problems and make decisions.
