This book emphasizes the writing of correct and readable programs using structured techniques whilst covering the features of standard Pascal as implemented by Turbo. The strength of the text lies in the many examples and wealth of programming and non-programming exercises. Strings are introduced early so that non-numeric types of programs may be written. Chapters 9 and 13 develop case studies which show how language elements combine to form large programs. Important algorithms are carefully developed using an algorithmic language.
