Laurie Pettitt is the man to speak to if you want your VW air-cooled engine rebuilt. He has 35 years' experience of dissecting, analysing and rebuilding these engines, and is a great advocate of recycling original components where possible as they are often far better than cheap off-the-shelf replacements (hence 'mucky green art'). He has contributed articles to magazines, performed live engine autopsies at VW shows and is a regular on web forums where he imparts plenty of invaluable advice.
