Sinopsis

The Second International Conference on Radiometry was held at the National Physical Laboratory, London, in April 1988 and attracted participants from 13 countries. This volume contains 30 papers, both invited and contributed, including a keynote address summarizing the major achievements of the past 100 years in optical radiometry. New Developments and Applications in Optical Radiometry provided a forum for the presentation and discussion of recent advances made in absolute radiometry. Some emphasis was placed on applications to other measurement areas, such as radiometry in space, VUV and IR radiometry, laser power measurement and power measurement in fibre optic systems. The cross-disciplinary nature of the conference is illustrated by the broad scope of the papers in this volume. These proceedings will be of value to libraries and researchers in such areas as metrology, heliometry, telecommunications, optics, astronomy, space science and device physics.
