Although the book of Jonah was written many years ago, it contains messages that are relevant and applicable today. It presents a story that ominously parallels the situation in the modern church.
In this collection of sermons, originally delivered by Dr. Kendall at Westminster Chapel, the church is challenged to look at its current situation: a stance of retreat rather than ready for battle.
The sermons are presented here almost as they were delivered in order to retain their freshness and authenticity. As a result, the message that heralded a new beginning for one congregation thirty years ago can speak powerfully to many others today.
