In the autumn of 2007 a letter was sent to Christian leaders around the world which was signed by 138 Muslim Scholars. The letter,entitled'A common word between us and You',calls for Christians and Muslims to come together around their common belief in the love of God and love of neighbour. There have been numerous official church responses and a good deal of discussion about the contents of the letter.There are questions about the origins of the letter and what it hopes to achieve.Many have seen this as an exciting opportunity for Christian and Muslims to engage in dialogue with one another.
