Learning to ride is often associated exclusively with youth, yet in recent years many more people of mature years have elected to explore the particular delights of man's long established partnership with the horse. Until now, no book has addressed the specific problems and benefits of teaching the rider whose physical powers may be in decline, but whose mental facilities are often greatly superior to those of a younger pupil. The author has been involved with adult novices in the Riding Club movement, and has drawn on his experiences in order to write this book. The final chapter advises the mature enthusiast on the purchase of a suitable horse.
