Reseña del editor

Poverty and social impact analysis (PSIA) methods are designed to assess the distributional impact of policy reforms on the welfare of different groups in society, particularly on the poor and vulnerable, and are being increasingly used to promote evidence-based policy options for poverty reduction strategies in developing countries. This volume focuses on six key areas of policy reform that are likely to have significant effects on poverty reduction and wealth distribution, relating to: pensions, health, labour markets, public sector reforms, taxation and decentralisation; as well as summarising modeling approaches for macroeconomic shocks and policies. It includes a CD-ROM which contains chapters from the first volume (ISBN 0821361813) which covers reforms in the policy areas of trade, financial, utilities provision, agriculture and education, as well as information on the PSIA user's guide, good practice notes, an e-learning course, and links to other resources.
