Sinopsis
Greek ideas about geometry, straight-edge and compass constructions, and the nature of mathematical proof dominated mathematical thought for about 2,000 years. Projective geometry began its development in the Renaissance as artists like da Vinci and Durer explored methods for representing 3-dimensional objects on 2-dimensional surfaces. Acerca del autor
John Tabak, Ph.D., performed graduate work at Suny at Stony Brook and received a degree in mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is the author of A Look at Earth and A Look at Neptune, two astronomy titles for middle school readers. He is presently writing a history of American sign language.
