Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee by Charles J. Shields is a biography of the reclusive author Harper Lee, best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird. The book offers an in-depth look at Lee s life, from her childhood in Monroeville, Alabama, to her rise to literary fame and her later years of near-total seclusion. Shields explores Lee's relationship with her family, her friendship with Truman Capote, and the impact of To Kill a Mockingbird on both her life and American literature. The biography also reflects on the themes of race, justice, and morality that pervade her work. Through extensive research and interviews, Shields provides a portrait of a complex, private woman whose contributions to literature and society continue to resonate.
