Nine-year-old Jeremiah Jones was always running. Running around the schoolyard, running into trouble, and running away from his past.

As a foster child, life for Jeremiah looks like a garbage bag filled with his things, a new school, and a new family to live with every few months. All he really wants is a place and a family that he can call his own.

After being expelled from school again, Jeremiah really begins to think that no one will ever want him to be a part of their family. But it doesn’t take long before some special people, teammates he can count on, and a priceless gift from his grandmother help him realize that sometimes the most important thing is to just finish the race.
