He calls for help, but even his mother's threats do not drive the leopard away. The panda climbs higher and higher, luring the leopard out on a thin branch that cracks under its weight. The leopard falls, hurts itself, and slinks away in shame. The mother panda is so relieved to have her son safe that she cannot even scold him.
