Active Directory Services is the linchpin of Microsoft's forthcoming Windows NT Server 5. Technically, Active Directory "presents a complete and extensible hierarchy of logical names with a potentially infinite scope". In English, this means that it makes networked life much easier for both network administrators and network users. Active Directory enables network administrators to manage networks and resources more quickly and efficiently than NT 4's domain-based structure; network users will find it easier to locate resources and documents.
