Vintage 1970 1st Printing - 1st Edition Andy MacDonald, bursting with mischief and laughter from his best seller, BREAD AND MOLASSES, is back at his larder of countless crazy capers with this sidesplitting sequel, DON'T SLIP ON THE SOAP From the missing school strap to the day Murray ate the flypad, Andy's readers are whisked once again through his wacky weird of frolic and devilry. Be witness to the time the boys vainly compacted their freckles with cowpies, the three sermons a Sunday which drove Billy out of the church on his belly, and the boys playing analyst to their favorite hen, all the while dodging ghosts, cops, vampires, cockroaches, and fierce old Pa. Andy and his crew were forever in the thick of trouble and fun, even though as Andy points out, "You win a few, you lose most of them. For those who weren't in on the feast of BREAD AND MOLASSES, Andy is the son of a poor Cape Breton coal miner. His family of twelve never had quite enough to get by on, and Andy was a survivor of this bittersweet upbringing on the edge of a poor coal-mining town during the hungry thirties. He is hale and hearty today to share with us his tales of his family's struggle through good times and bad times. DON'T SLIP ON THE SOAP is the touchingly human sequel to Andy's saga of survival and comedy. Welcome once again to one more funny, funny book in the zany life of one of this country's craziest and most charming raconteurs. Signed by Author(s). Nº de ref. del artículo: 010733
