Vintage 1979 - 334 Pages - In less than three years, through Kati mavik, more than 4,000 young Canadians from every part of the country and every walk of life have lived and worked in small groups as volunteers in more than 180 Canadian communities. A private corporation financed by the federal government, Katima vik, as the Right Honourable Roland Michener writes in his introduction, is "an imaginative concept, well designed to engage the interest and time of young Canadians, suspended uncertainly, for one reason or another, between high school and entry into a college or career". In his book, Jacques Hébert, with the help of twenty-four partici pants, tells about the first year of Katimavik. It is, as Roland Michener says, "an unusual story, told in an informal and conversational style, and with considerable feeling". Nº de ref. del artículo: 013522
