Conflicts between holders of various political opinions were constant, and culminated in the Rebellion of 1837-1938. Lord Durham, a pronounced Liberal, who was sent out as Governor-General in the middle of this critical period, made certain wise recommendations for the future of Canada, but many of them did not find favour with the House of Lords. Lord Durham took the surprising step of returning to England of his own accord. The author has used this period as a background and written a story which should satisfy both the social historian and the reader of novels. *** RARE Title; Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" Tall. Book.
